Figshare is a repository where users can make all of their research outputs available in a citable, shareable and discoverable manner.

Create a new record

Creating the record
Click on the “Create a new item” button or browse/drag a file onto the “Drag files to upload” square.

1. Once you have logged in successfully, the following screen will appear.

2. Click on Create a new item button.

3. The following template form appears.  All fields that are marked with a Green dot are mandatory fields, which must be completed.

4. Drag the files you wish to upload into the space provided.

If you drag and drop multiple files into the upload box, the template form will prompt you to either create one entry with multiple files, or to create separate entries for each file.

Continue filling in all the required information from the template.

5.8. FUNDING: Here you add any funding information that is relevant to your research data. When typing in Funder information FigShare searches the Dimensions database, a sister company of Digital Science. To add Funder information that doesn’t appear in Dimensions, type in the name of the Funder in the dialog box provided – click on Add another grant.

5.9. REFERENCES: Here you could enter any links to other research. For example, in the Desciption example above, there was a link to a Twitter account. That Twitter link could be entered here.

5.10. RESOURCE DOI: Add here any DOI that you wish to link to.
