Guidelines

European Commission. Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport, and Culture . Ethical guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and data in teaching and learning for educators

These ethical guidelines on artificial intelligence (AI) and data usage in teaching and learning are designed to help educators understand the potential that the applications of AI and data usage can have in education and to raise awareness of the possible risks so that they are able to engage positively, critically and ethically with AI systems and exploit their full potential.

ASSAf and SciELO Guidelines for the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools and Resources in Research Communication Endorsed by the ASSAf Council (17 September 2024)

Note that these guidelines will be updated periodically as AI tools develop.

The purpose of these guidelines is to guide scholarly journals, book publishers, preprint platforms, and data collectors on the use of content generated by AI applications in scholarly communication. These guidelines offer suggestions for updating the Guidelines to Authors section of journals and books, as well as for the internal management of manuscript submissions, evaluation, and final version editing by the editors of the journals or books. They provide standards and practices for authors, editors, and reviewers regarding the use of AI tools and resources in research communication.

Policies

The National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy Framework for South Africa (a first step in developing the National AI Policy) aims to promote the integration of Artificial Intelligence technologies to drive economic growth, enhance societal well-being, and position South Africa as a leader in AI innovation.
